THE SPIRITUAL EXERCISES OF ST. IGNATIUS
The Ignatian Retreat, perhaps better known as the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius will commence in the Spiritual Enrichment Center in mid September.
What are the Spiritual Exercises?
The experience of the Spiritual Exercises is an experience of God. This experience of God gives the gift of freedom to a person, freedom of Spirit as stressed by St. Paul. It is initially a freedom from sin that inhibits us, from addictions. It is besides a
free-ing from what we cling to, a free-ing from our fears, anxieties etc.
The Spiritual Exercises are a school in discernment. In making them we are apprenticed to the art of being sensitive in our daily lives to the interior leading of the Spirit.
How do we do them?
* There are no lectures involved
* One prays for a fixed period every day
* One meets on a weekly basis with an experienced guide
Who can do them?

Duration?
The retreat will commence in mid September and finish in May with a break at Christmas and Easter.
Cost?
This is arranged at an individual meeting prior to the commencement of the retreat.

Directed Retreats
A directed retreat is personally guided. In the individual retreat, the person meets daily with the spiritual director. The retreatant is given Scripture passages on which he/she meditates daily.
In a group-directed retreat, the spiritual director meets with the group each day, giving them meditations and assignments to complete.
Retreats vary in length, usually three to five days.
Directed retreats may be scheduled at any time.
If you are interested in a directed retreat, please contact Sr. Antonia Killian for further details
